I want it~

It's a small quilt that is on Ebay. There is something special about quilts to me. They take months or years to make. Quilting is something that I would really like to learn to do. I really like the green border, it accents all the other colors. This pattern is called a Flower Garden.

The boys~

In true Zeke form there is no smile for this picture, just a scowl. Little stinker!

The excitement of watching Justus was amazing! Just look at that giant smile. An old gameboy brought that one on.

It's kind of hard to tell but if you look close you can see Zeke's little lips puckered in a OOooooooh over these race cars Sam got for the boys.

Just before I got this shot he had a HUGE smile over these CARS. He loves the movie & instantly recognized these as CARS characters. Too cute.

Who can't beat that excitement? Justus is a Panther's fan so he got some Panther's gear to wear. They're in the playoffs...at least until next week.

Nieces & Nephews at our 'family Christmas'~

Thursday, December 25, 2008

So, it's Christmas Eve. But it doesn't seem like it. Normally at this hour (1am) we are ALL baking goodies for the next couple of days. Some of our 'traditional' goodies include: puppy chow, homemade peanut butter fudge, peanut butter blossoms w/kisses in the middle, coconut kisses, thumbprint cookies. Gosh, there are a TON more that I can't think of right now. We bake these treats up & share them over the next week or so. They usually last until after New Year's. We take the goodies to parties (we usually have at least three or more) & share them with neighbors & coworkers. But it hasn't been the same this year. OH-- a few more are homemade chex mix & peppermint cake. Can anybody guess how I got to be a nice round 200 & growing pounds????

The cookies & cakes aren't really the best part anyways. The most fun is when we get dilerious (sp) because it's late and we start telling silly stories from the past. Like the year my dad burnt the ham. Another time the oven stopped working in the middle of our turkey baking & the guys swapped it out with an extra we had in the shop. We have over cooked the fudge so its not the wonderful creamy consistency. And many more baking stories. These probably sound really dumb right now but IF I was a good story teller I would have you rolling around on the floor at our crazy antics & happenings.

Now you know one of our traditions is baking. Another one is ornament exchange. To many people ornaments are just something you put on the tree. To our family it means much more. On my tree I have many homemade ornaments that my family has made over the years.

Some are ceramic from when I was a small child & my Aunt & Uncle were in that business. Some are ones that have been made at school...my fav is one of my youngest brother Jacob the year he went to school. It was also the year I left for MC's so it brings back lots of memories. My parents also made homemade wooden ones for several years. Anyways I can look back at the dates on them & remember special momentos from the past. Each year we exchange ornaments. When you get married you get to take your ornaments with you for your own tree.

Well I am getting tired & hungry (AGAIN) so I am off to bed to get some rest & avoid the 'cookie jar'. Hope that you each have a special Christmas with your family & friends. God Bless!

Baby News~

Justus was facinated with Levi but Zeke and Leah could have cared less.

Praises~

Hello All I've got good news! We've got a new baby. Levi Corbin came last night around 10:30. Aubrey was induced around 4pm yesterday so the baby came pretty quick, not a super long labor. Thankfully. He is 8lbs+ and 21 in. long. We went to see them today and he is SUPER cute of course! And Aubrey is doing well too!

Also a awesome praise report....my other SIL went back to the doctor yesterday about the cancer. They took a second look and the cancer doc says that it's precancerous and treatment can wait until after the baby comes. How amazing is that???? After the baby gets here they will re-evaluate and go from there. That is such a relief for everyone! Especially Caleb (sam's bro) since he is in Iraq & can't be here to support Christy more.

Anyways, I have to say that I am wonderfully happy and amazed at our God. He works things for our good. And this time he worked super fast. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

Monday, December 15, 2008

Seriously, I will get around to pictures soon. We're all busy around here. Christmas is coming early this year since Josh and Aubrey will have a new baby and they also have to work Christmas and that entire weekend. So, we're celebrating our family Christmas on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

I'm both excited and disappointed about it. This will be the first year in five years that we will celebrate Christmas Day with our children....all by ourselves. So that is super exciting. We can start some of our own traditions. Disappointed because we won't be with our entire family---the first time EVER in almost thirty years!!!

Golf ball on the head~

Sam went back to work yesterday. So I waited until the boys went to bed & were sound alseep to take a shower. When I get out my sister had Zeke in her lap with a ice pack on his head. Both he and Justus were crying. While I was in the shower Zeke had fallen off the bed and hit his head on the floor. He had a nice golf ball size purplish bump on his little noggin. As soon as he saw me he started crying even harder. Poor guy I think he was scared more than hurt. I would have taken a picture but we can't find our camera anywhere! His head looks 100% better today! I'm thinking that we will be carpeting that room as soon as we get our tax returns back!

It's been raining and pouring all day long. Now at 4pm the sun is finally shining! It's a warm 65 degrees here. Not exactly winter weather.

Crystal~ Our camera is MIA . The couple pics I put up I stole from Kristy's myspace. I'll put up some pics ASAP!

Kristy & her girls Destiny & Trinity talking to Caleb in Iraq~

Justus, Trinity & Destiny hanging out at grandma's~

My Zekie baby~

In the next week or so I will be an Aunt for the 5th time!!!! Aubrey went to the doctor today & she is dialated 3cm. The baby is almost 8lbs already. I hope for her sake he comes sooner rather than later!

Zeke

My little guy is quite a character these days. All day long he has been walking around saying Oh my Gosh...I guess I say that WAY more than I should!

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Tonight I am praying for my soon to be sister-in-law Kristy. She is thirty weeks pregnant (two ahead of me) and found out today that she has cancer. I cannot imagine the torment that the enemy has unleashed on her. Her fiance (sam's brother) is in Iraq fighting for our freedom. She has two little girls to take care of right now & a little boy on the way.

Please keep Kristy in your prayers. She is not a believer and is under an incredible amount of stress. My prayer is for salvation, peace and healing. Pray also for Caleb that through this they will come to know what an awesome God we serve.

We're back from our Bama trip. After spending a few days with Nicole and her family we headed to Ashland to go and see Sam's family. The boys had Christmas three different times. Let's just say they are not in need of any more gifts!!!! Justus and Zeke had a blast running around with Nic's boys and Darcy too! We went to watch Jessica play basketball at a tournament. She was also cheerleading that same night for a different game. Every year we have a blast hanging out and spending time together. Thanks Nicole for being such an grewat hostess!

Justus and I are recovering from bronchitis. And Zeke is just now getting the cold. We're leaving for Bama tommorrow night. and I have TONS left to do. Poor Zeke is so grumpy! I hope that we can head off this cold so our trip will be enjoyable!

Sam and I went shopping on Friday. We shopped for several hours & spent about a hundred bucks and a few gifts cards we had stuck back. There is still one person on the list to look for. Anything after that is icing on the cake!

I always plan to be more faithful to blogging but I haven't been on blogger since my last post. I'm trying to catch up but really need to walk away and do some packing!!!! I love you girls! And enjoy spending time in your lives (reading your blog)! Merry Christmas!!!!

I'm taking Justus to the doctor today. He has had a fever for three days now. It stayed a low grade fever for most of the time but spiked a bit yesterday. We both have colds which isn't unusual for us because our allergies are so sensitive. We are using the wood stove now so there is more dust in the air & that always stirs things up.

One thing I love about Sam's new job is that the boys can go and hang out with him. It's especially important for Justus who asks for his daddy every moment of the day. He went to spend the night with Sam this week. This time he is on shift for eight days in a row. The most he would do at one time is fourteen. IF he ever did that he would have off twenty days off. It's something that we are considering when the baby comes in March.

Today while we go to the doctors office Zeke will go and stay with Sam. Justus is mad about that...he wants daddy time too! LOL!

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Today my sister and her kids come home. The kids spend their weekends with their dad. My sister stays with "friends". We never know where she actually is. I dread every Sunday afternoon. Our house doubles in numbers and chaos ensues for the first few hours. This is especially hard when Sam is gone. I can feel my blood pressure go up immediately. This 'issue' is on the top of my prayer list. I pray for compassion for them and what moves WE need to make to get to the next place. How's that for "Joyful Expressions"? Did I mention that I am pessimistic by nature....another character flaw that I pray God will continue to work on with me!

Saturday, November 22, 2008

We took Justus over to stay the night with daddy. So it's just me & Zeke playing around. I forgot how fun having ONE can be! He is a silly little guy & I've spent part of the day chasing and tickling my little Zeke-ie. One on one time is super special! I'm sure Justus would agree!

Week 24~

I go Friday to the doctor so I will know then how much weight I"ve gained. Last time it was five pounds which is significant for me. The baby is really kicking quite a bit now & last night Sam got to feel it for the first time. This one is a real kicker! The heartburn has settled in & no matter what I eat I am guarunteed to have it at least once a day. The is no more sleeping on my stomach it feels like a canteloupe is in there & sleeping on a canteloupe is not at all comfortable. My sense of smell is also out of whack. I was drinking some juice the other day. It was supposed to be Orange Mango but it tasted like green olives to me---I don't like green olives & almost puked! This pregnancy I have been extremely tired. I'd love to stay and chat but it's time for Zeke to get out of time out.

One in a million shot - A smile from God !

Halloween Weekend~

There are several set of pictures from Halloween weekend. So if you have the time take a minute to look at them all.

We went to a great festival for the kids. They had bounce houses, candy, free food & live music. We also got on the hayride & they took us to a corn maze which Justus absolutely LOVED. The church payed our way in. Once we got back it was dark so we grabbed some food and listen to the music. We will go to this festival again next year. This church put a lot of thought & money into this outreach. RIght before we got ready to go they handed out door prizes. The kids had a blast.

PRAYER REQUEST~

More changes may be coming to the Adams' household. Please pray that we will have wisdom to take God's direction.

Saturday, November 08, 2008

I loaded the picture backwards. But here are some of our kiddos Halloween night. We went to two fall festivals. The kids had a blast & the weather was perfectly COLD! More to come...it took a while to get these up. I'm not sure if it is my computer or internet or what. Enjoy!

Running Errands~

Sam is headed back to work tommorrow so we ran some last minute errands. Walmart-yuk!, the mall-equally yuk. McDonald's for the kids-again yuk. And now we are stocked up for the next week with things we needed. AH, it's good to be home.

Oh yeah we did make a fun stop at Hobby Lobby. I want to make some snowglobe ornaments out of the little plastic bubbles that you get small toys from out of the gumball machine. So I was looking for some miniature figurines. Like baby Jesus, Stars, anything like that. I didn't find what I was looking for so I will try again as Christmas gets closer.

Narrow Escape~

Today I messed up our checking account by using the wrong check card. Thankfully the Holy Spirit reminded me about it & we fixed it...I think. We got cash out of one account & deposited into the other account. As of now it looks like we won't have the $30 insufficient funds fee. I guess we will truly know at midnight tonight. Hopefully I made a narrow escape!

A visitation~

Well, over the past few days we have had a visit by the 'terrible two's". In general the two's are one of my favorite ages. But Zeke has had some flare ups lately. Such as going into the refrigerator & pulling out the milk. Then spilling a half gallon all over the floor and then 'swimming' in it and splashing in the puddles. Or throwing an apple at the brick wall which exploded all over the place. Smashing the grapes into the floor. Climbing up to get candy- today he got a sucker & was hiding behind the couch eating it. Seriously the list could go on.

Most of the time upon discovery of the mess I've had an immediate reaction of either anger or simply trying not to laugh out right in his face. He's really being a stinker! In part I think this is him discovering that there is a reaction to every action. He's had a little red butt a few times this week. And of course getting away with some things because I couldn't stop laughing at his antics. My quiet little fella has turned into a mischevious toddler!
